Announcing the 3rd Annual HANDS AROUND CLEAR LAKE Tribal Gathering and Healing Ceremony!
a FREE EVENT, open to ALL PEOPLES (park entrance fees apply)Saturday, September 21, 2013 - Tribal Gathering and Campfire at Clear Lake State Park
Sunday, September 22, 2013 - Sunrise Ceremony to Bless Clear Lake Clear Lake!
Starts at 7AM sharp - LIVE on KPFZ 88.1 FM and streaming online right here!
Important information about our visit to Clear Lake State Park:
While Park staff has been aware of this event for months and has been very helpful in its logistical preparation, one of the rangers told me this week (on Thursday, 9/19) that Hands Around Clear Lake is a "special event" and the application was never filled out. (Other park employees have previously assured me that this application was unnecessary and that we do not qualify as such an event). This ranger yesterday indicated that if anything resembling a "special event" was taking place, there may be consequences. What those consequences are, I am not certain.
I know we are all within our rights to be camping there and spending time together in the park. We are all welcome to come for the night or for day-use, pay the appropriate fees, and enjoy this beautiful natural space. Carpooling is permitted (up to a certain number of people per vehicle) and camp-sharing is permitted (up to a certain number of people per camp), and we fully intend to observe and abide by all park rules and regulations. More detailed park info can be found at the park's website: http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=473
We are Family. We are also responsible individuals. That's what I'm hoping to make clear here. We are all responsible for ourselves and our conduct at the park this weekend. There is no "organization" responsible for this gathering. It is just our local Rainbow Family. We're entering the park separately, paying our own fees, and meeting up in the park as free and respectful human beings. With that said, if anyone needs help with park entrance fees the day of the event, please call 415-646-5630. It is likely that there will be cars and campers there with space to include additional people in their vehicles, legally! So if you're needing help, let us know. We may be self-responsible individuals, but we are also family and community, and we must care for one another.
Many thanks to Clear Lake State Park, and the staff there, for holding space for us to gather on Planet Earth. We are committed to stewarding the land responsibly and honoring our hosts and neighbors. If you are planning to attend the gathering, please do your best to respect the space and call 415-646-5630 with any questions. Much gratitude!

Join your brothers and sisters for a sacred healing ceremony for people of all spiritual backgrounds. We all share this land and these precious resources, and we are all participants in the healing that is taking place here. On this day, we come together through all our differences, to honor all that unites us.
The lake is listening, and "Hands Around Clear Lake" is a chance for us all to come together and speak our message to her. We intend not just to survive, but to thrive. We intend safety, peace and joy -- love, health and happiness.
Let us unite with our positive visions and our common dreams for a greener tomorrow, healthier communities, and a truly Clear Lake. This is the oldest lake in North America, this land is our sacred home, and our survival depends on how well we steward this place, together -- and how well we work together as a Tribe. This ceremony will be to bless not only Clear Lake, but all the sacred waters that give life to us all.
This Lake, this Land, this Tribe -- we are all all healing. The intention is here. It is already done. All that is left now is for us to share in the joyful service and celebration, all the work and play in community, as we come together and learn to walk the path of truth and integrity together.
Thank you for all you do. And may the Force be with you!
